bank of scotland prob! any advice plz.....

had an loan with bnk v scot,there was an amount outstanding,and a letter sent saying without prejudice- theyd accept £807.33 less.paid the amount minus the £807.33 and all of the last year have been chased by constant phone calls from debt coll agncys,and solicitors,asking for this less amount back,this £807.33 acc to the letter is a rebate of charge-plz can someone explain this? and does this amount have to be repaid? havent made any contact to any of the above was going to arr to pay but finding this letter should i? if theres any small,tiny,large amount of advice id be truly gratefull,
