Default Me v Barclays - Terrified !!!

I've been reading all the success stories from this website and actually got round to sending my first letter with the cheque requesting all my statements so I can get this whole matter underway. Can anyone tell me how this information normally arrives - I'm imagining a box of copy statements - probably huge !! - exactly how far back do the banks normally go at this first request stage ?
I'm absolutely terrified, but determined to keep going - my account was always fine until the charges started -I'm quite sure there's someone at the bank pressing a button every time they see my name and going - ha, another charge to you !!!.
Any words of wisdom very gratefully received.

Hi Lindy,

Welcome aboard and congraturations on getting the first letter on its way. I presume this is the Subject Access Request (Data Protection Act) letter.

This gives the bank 40 days to supply all your statements for the last 6 years so you can expect a large letter (lol). There is no reason why you should not receive all the statements so at the moment all you can do is wait, and do a lot of reading to prepare for what happens next.

Useful links to keep to hand are

http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk...questions.html

http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk...tructions.html

I would suggest asking a MOD to move this thread to the Barclays forum as there will be people who have or are going through the process with them and they can offer specific help.

If you need any quick answers try the chatroom as there are usually some wise heads in there.

Very best of luck

BB

PS, I assure they dont need anyone to press a button to apply a charge.
