Reclaiming bank charges

Can anyone advise?
I have an account with the Nationwide. I submitted a MCOL for charges over a 6 year period of £2600, plus interest plus the court fee which totals £3200. when the claim was served I received an acknowledgement that the Nationwide intended to defend the claim. This then gave the Nationwide 28 days to file a defence. With 14 days remaining I discovered today that a " cash credit " of £700 has appeared in my account ( this amount is the same as the interest and court fee added together ). I havn't received any communication from the Nationwide. What do I do?

You need to find out what this £700 is, and what it represents.
If it represents a full and final settlement payment from NW you need to write saying that you accept this as part payment, and will pursue the rest, there is a letter in the library for doing this.
