Exclamation Me v Alliance & Leicester

Please can someone help.

I only had 5 months of bank statements so I downloaded the letter from the BBC and followed their instructions giving the bank the 14 days. I have had back the normal get lost letter.

Do I need to get all charges from the bank or can I work on what I have.
So do I have to send the 40 days letter together with the £10 or can I just issue proceedings and do a monthly guestimate.

Please help

Carol

send ya £10 off and then wait for all your statements, do your schedule of charges without interest, with prelim letter, wait for response, then do letter before action giveing 14 day deadline, STICK to the date of that deadline, issue proceedings with the normal 8% interest and an up to date schedule of charges, and then wait, the alliance and leicester seem to only take you seriously if you issue MCOL and then pay about a week or so later.
dont ever feel the need to guesstimate or they will know you dont know what your doing, always stick to your schedule of charges and your time deadlines hun. its a waiting game just be patient!

oh by the way WELCOME AND GOOD LUCK!!!!!

alliance and leicester paid up in full !!!!
i sent the usual letters requesting my bank charges to be repaid, it took a few months and they sent me the usual fob off letters and stalling letters. eventually they offered me about 1/3 of my claim, i was just about to start court proceedings when someone advised me to try the fincancial ombudsman first, nothing to lose so i rang them. they sent me a form to fill in, that was about 4 wks ago and today i got a letter saying the bank had not only agreed to pay up in full but that they were paying me about £500 more than my claim, this seems to be just about the amount that the contractual interest would have come to. needless to say i am thrilled. all you out there still going through the process , dont give up, if the alliance and leicester will pay up anyone will!!!

Well done allocator!
We are waiting for the Ombudsman to deal with our case after the A & L sending first the get lost letter, then, after we sent the £10 and request for bank charge details, they offered £720, which is roughly a third of what they have overcharged us.
Here's hoping that the Ombudsman gets the results we want - we will carry on to the end, but it would be so much nicer if we didn't have to.........!

hi can someone point me in the right direction of calculating my charges and interest at 8%, I have just sent off for my bank statements with letter and £10, and want to be fully clued up before sending of prelim letter.

cheers
