Default medical records

Hi I am looking for some advice a "friend" of mine has recently applied for a job in the doctors surgery where I am a patient. She already works for another surgery I hate to say this but she is not very discreet and I am really worried that if she is sucessful she will have access to some higly personal information of mine which not even my family know!!! Could someone advise how much of my medical history (if any) she is able to see. I am so worried about this that I am thinking of changing my doctor.
thank you

I am not 100% sure on this to be honest. I did hear once that if you have access to files of people you know then you should ask someone else to look at them for you.

I used to work for my local council and i wasn't allowed to deal with account (council tax, housing benefit etc) of those whom i was related or associated with. I don't know if this is the same, maybe post your question here: http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/nhs/ in our nhs forum?

You could also contact your practise manager and ask for advice.
