Default I have an IT problem

Hey guys and gals,
I have an IT problem. I managed to install newer version of Microsoft as the old problem was knackered but cannot seem to get the setting correct. Here are my problems.
1) picture is wavey not smooth when I scroll down the page.
2) this site seems to be too big to fit just on the laptop screen
3) the text on MSN has me almost getting the binoculars out to see the page.
Have tried to switch settings but page then gets too big to see.
Surely this must be a simple problem to fix.
Any help guys and please fairly childish language please as I am not a techie.
Thanks is advance

Hi

Have you tried:

Right click on your desktop with the mouse
go to properties
go to settings
change your resolution size

see if that helps

Hi Mate
first thing i would do is download the right drivers from the web for your laptop, by default xp will load a generic driver , whilst it will work ,its not optimised for your screen.
once you have done this and only if this does not fix the issue then do as you did on the previous thread but instead of changing the screen size go to settings and select the advance option.
you will find the option to change the font size here under general , also if you click the monitor tab you can change the screen refresh rate , this will stop the wobble .

thanks guys for the responses and I have the download site for a driver but I bought the laptop secondhand and is an e series lifebook. How so I find what type it is? I went into one of the options and it had multiple options for drivers, which one do I use to sort the problem?
I am realising how much I don't know about IT so I am learning slowly but surely.
Thanks in advance
