| | Site Team | Re: Hello Consumer Action Group Hi there CG welcome to the site.
What you do next is begin to recover them...........and you came to the right place.First thing is to get all your statements from them.
To do this you need to request copies from them under the data protection act.
A letter for you to do this is in the bank temps library see my link below.
Good idea to read the faqs and also some threads in your bank group. Here you will also find the contact details of where to send your first letter to.

| | Site Team | Re: Hello Consumer Action Group Incidentally the 10.00 fee covers all data held with the same organisation.
That covers all acounts and cards that are issued by that bank and are associate companies of them

| | Basic Account Customer | Re: Hello Consumer Action Group Hello,
I have just joined the Forum!
I have just read CharleyGirl's note and I see that I am in a similar position. I wrote to my bank (Abbey) using a very similar first letter template which my ISP Money section had provided, requesting the information about bank charges over the last six years (I did this before discovering the forum). They have however, responded by saying that they cannot supply me with with a list of charges applied to my account however, they can only provide me with 14months of information in the form of duplicate statements. Most transactions between 2000 and 2005 are stored on microfiche and not on the computer and there would be £10 charge to get the information. I have paid the £10, but have not received anything. Since receiving this response, they have cancelled my direct debits even though I am not even in my agreed overdraft limit, additionally charging me £35 per.
How best do I deal with this, particularly the bit about the microfiche? I would really appreciate some help
THANKS! |
