Default Please, someone help me..re...alliance and leicester

Hello there...
I bank with the alliance and leicester (what a BIG mistake!).
Since joining the bank in January this year, i have so far received over £600 in charges...most of them are due to alliance and leicester charging me for being overdrawn because they have refused to pay a direct debit, so charged me for that and because that made me overdrawn they then charged me for being overdrawn, which left me short(on benefits that is hard!)Then after they slap on more overdrawn charges, i am left with nothing so i have no choice but to use a cheque....you get the picture?!Its a viscious circle, and i have PLEADED with them before, not to charge me for something as it will make me overdrawn, their reply?..the charge is correct to your account!Fine!
I have now stopped using that account and have started using my old basic NatWest account, but alliance and leicester are charging me on a daily basis at the moment as my account with them is overdrawn!
Does anyone have any advice on what i should do first?
Should i tell alliance and leicester of my plans to try and get my money back?Should i close the account as it is, and then try and get my money back?
Im so confused, i really do not know what the best course of action is for me, as the longer i leave it, the more charges i am incurring!
Alliance and leicester have really messed up my finances...having been charged SO much by them has left me behind with payments on credit cards...more charges!!
HELP!
Please advise me on what i should do FIRST!
Thankyou,
A desperate mother!

firstly, have you still got all your statements? if so jot up all the money they have fined you, if not you need to send of your Data Protection Act request to the bank, then have a very good read of the A&L thread and the llink below

http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk...se-read-these/

That will tell you all you need to know, please make sure you do read it as it is very beneficial. I wouldnt inform the bank about it, let it come as a suprise when your prelim arrives on the desk.

All the letters you need are here

I cant see a problem with printing off your statements, when you`ve sent off your prelim letter, start a thread in the A&L folder and keep us all updated, and ask any questions you may need to, someone will answer

Good luck
