sick of halifax

hi all
im new to this forum and i hope to gain a lot of welcome advice about how to claim my bank charges from the halifax!!
i have put up with these charges for the last 20+ years , this is how long i have been with them , i just accepted it as i didnt think i could do anything about it .
one incidence was last month i paid a cheque to a plasterer for work he had done for me , the cheque was given to him on the tuesday afternoon , which i expected to be cashed in 4/5 days time , guess what the cheque was paid out on thursday !! how quick was that , when i want a cheque cashing that quickly it never happens !!
They charged me £39.00 on that day and a further £28.00 later , i cant wait to get the list of charges from them for the last 6 years , as i know it will be in the thousands , and most of them for silly things !!
anyway thats my moan out of the way

Hi there not quite sure what you are asking but first a little piece of advice read, read and read this site. You need to read the FAQ's they will give you everything you need to know to start you off.
You need then to go here:
Consumer Action Group > Libraries - bank charges materials and other issues > Bank Templates Library 1. Data Protection Act, Subject Access Request letter - List of charges

This will gave you the initial letter template Data Protection Act (Data Protection ACT) - which, if you haven't got your bank statements or list of charges going back six years you will need to make a claim.
If you read this letter you will notice that it says "please provide me with a list of charges" which is what you are asking for. If you ask for statements they will charge you £5 - £10 per statement. They will probably provide you with the statements as this is an easier way of providing that information for them! You will also need to enclose a cheque or Postal Order for £10 to cover the cost of this information. They then have 40 days to respond to this letter.
I suggest you use that time to read up on the process and other people's threads etc...
