Question OFT Complaint

Hi

I am new to this but am currently writing to 2 banks who have charged me a total of nearly £1,000. LOne has written back saying sorry you are unhappy, blah, blah, so i have sent the second leatter - Letter Before Action and am awaiting a reply; the other one replied saying that the OFT's rulings apply to credit cards, not banks!...suffice to say, they have also received the 2nd letter. Within both of these letters i have put in there that i will make a claim to the OFT that they are not a 'fit and proper' person to hold a credit licence etc etc. What i would like to know is whether anyone has done this and if so, is there a letter template i can use? If not, is there any particular information i should be putting in this letter if it should go this far?

Hi, Caroline, welcome.

May I suggest that you start a NEW THREAD on each of the two forums relevant to the banks you are claiming from.

If you ask your question there you will get responses from the people who are also claiming from those banks, and will therefore be more pertinent to your claims.

Stick to your threads for any subsequent queries or general posts, it makes it easier for others to follow your progress.

Good Luck.

Have received my letter of reply from NatWest, they say that the OFT's ruling is only for credit cards too! Natwest also believe it's charges to be reasonable and say that they are under no obligation to explain how it's charges are calculated! Letter before action going out tonight
