Default Hello ... I'm terrified... help me please

Hi everyone

How scared am I? I got here through MSE ( a godsend) but am stiill dazed and confused. My story? Bad with money and stupid enough to get charges on all sorts of things. Advice needed and gratefully accepted.

I bank with Nationwide - it's a basic account and I never keep statements but know I have been charged. I have banked with them for 3 years. I had to take a basic account as i went into debt management and my Lloyds TSB account went there - loads of charges on that!!!
Where do I start? How do i get statements ( for as little a cost as possible)

Can i reclainm anything for Lloyds TSB even though they are in Debt Management - what about all my other credit cards that are with them?

Will my bank account be closed down and where else will I be able to get an account...

QUESTIONS QUESTIONS QUESTIONS!!!!

Default Re: Hello ... I'm terrified... help me please

Calm down, deep breath and read here

http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk...tructions.html

and here

http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk...se-read-these/

Start by reading, then read some more and then still more. It will take a few days of constant browsing, looking and reading to become familiar with the steps you need to take, but do not be put off, it can be done quite easily if you follow the established route.

Send the Data Protection Act S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) letter found in the templates library here

http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk...lates-library/in order to request copy statements and details of charges. The maximum cost is £10, but many banks are not in fact charging this. It is important to send payment however, although it may be returned.

You can claim from Lloyds TSB if you were charged, there is a six year time limit on claims, although I and others intend to claim beyond this limit. Credit cards you can also claim for.

Your account may be closed, this is why it may be necessary to open another account elsewhere, referred to here as a parachute account, search for "parachute account" for more details.

Come back again and ask anything else that you are unsure about.
