| | Basic Account Customer | Credit reports keep showing default Hi,
I had a problem with Barclaycard back in May 07 whereby they were accusing me of not paying for the card I had with them.
After many phone calls getting nowhere, I eventually got hold of Barclaycard Recoveries number. From them I found out that on there side someone had changed my address information so all my corrspondence was going to the wrong address.
Eventually the outstanding ( which I did owe and I was happy to pay ) was payed and it was agreed that the extra charges would be dropped as it was an error on there side. I was also sent a letter to confirm this.
Now when I did a credit check online in April of this year it was still showing a default on this account, I rang Barclaycard Recoveries again and they replied that it should not be defaulted and they would correct the default ( which they did because I checked online again a few days later and it had been cleared , Great ).
I have just looked at my credit report again and the account is now defaulted again starting from June 08 .
What can I do to stop this from happening .
Thanks in advance |

| | Site Team | Re: Credit reports keep showing default Contact the CRA and tell them you wish to open a dispute. They will contact Barclays. If you remain unhappy tell them you wish it to be decided by the Information Commissioners Office-they are required to let them decide if they cant.
Writing to Barclays Data protection office-I think Radbrook Hall -wont do any harm either.Keep copies and send with proof of post.

| | Site Team | Re: Credit reports keep showing default interesting I will look into it.This suggests there could be more than a vested interest than was thought.I have an ongoing court case with RBS under data protection issues-after contacting the CRA concerned they responded that they could not alter or remove info without permission from RBS and with their agreement.RBS responded that they had no controls at all over how the CRA processed or managed the data previously supplied by them.
I have copies of both letters in writing-and in fact blows a hole in the RBS defence-where they again say they have no controls.
