Default First Post, need help with 1st credit/LCS Solicitors

Having trouble with 1st credit/LCS, got into debt around 2001 due to unemployment. Soon found better work and started paying debts off. Have now received correspondance form 1st/LCS claiming a debt which I believe to have been paid but cannot prove.

Found this website a week ago and have followed the advice asking for CCA/deed of assignment/statement of account etc. I have now received a letter from LCS saying that I have 7 days to respond and listing a number of charges that increases the alleged debt from approx £4k to well over £6k. They have not supplied any of the documnets I asked for in the CCA request. Royal mail tracking service states the letter was delivered on the 26th of August so they still have some time.

I have a few questions

(1) Can they proceed with this without supplying proof of debt?
(2) Should I reply to the latest letter/demand?
(3) I am about to be in China for up to 3 months with work, If this goes to court do I have to attend in person to defend it via lack of CCA or can I do this by letter or a nominated person.

Any help will be very much appreciated

thanks

Not allowed unless the alledged debt has interest applied, but not by these muppets They have not supplied any of the documnets I asked for in the CCA request. wait until the deadline of 12+2 days passes Royal mail tracking service states the letter was delivered on the 26th of August so they still have some time.

(2) Should I reply to the latest letter/demand? No, just file and ignore their latest attempt to obtain monies from you, extra ammo if it comes down to it
