Hi everyone I have joined this forum to help me with advice on paying off my mortgage, never really had much money paid my mortgage regularly, I now have chance of a redundancy payment. I have 4.5 years left on my mortgage I am on a variable rate, what sort of early redemption penalty can i expect.

I owe £30,000 over 4.5 years to go, If i pay off early will i get the 4.5 years intrest knocked off.

If your balance is £30k and you have no penalties for early repayment, then the bank will just require the £30k, plus a closing admin charge of approx £250.
