Default Help with charges

I recieved a notification from the bank stating that i would be charged for my account going into the red. I paid money in using an express paying in machine at my local bank on the 23rd of june at 3:30 pm. The money was not credited till the 24th which meant my account going into the red and then being charged 25 pounds. I called asking for an explanation and was told that if money was in on the 23rd then my account would have been fine. I explained that i actually paid in on the 23rd using a paying in machine at the bank. The CSA then told me that they record transactions that are paid in after 3pm against the next working day whch meant mine was credited the following day . I think this is grossly unfair and need help as to what steps i can take. Thank you

Hi
Who do you bank with, did you expect direct debits to go out that day, why have the CSA commented on your personal banking.

Hi and thx for reply. I bank with hsbc and some money was going to come out of the account that day. The money in the account wasnt sufficient So i quickly popped down to put some money in around past 3 because they have a policy that if your account is credited by the close of the day you wont be charged. So i put the money in the express paying in box because the queue was so long. The amazing thing was i transferred some money from another account with another bank into the hsbc account around 6 pm that same day and it reflected

have you tried to write to HSBC, explaining that you credited your account expecting it to process that day, asking if they will refund charges on this occasion.
I had success once when this happened to me, however not with HSBC, I still confused about the CSA, is it possible they took money too early.
