Default Why the blues give me the blues (Halifax & Tesco)

Ive just stumbled upon this site, and im so glad i found it.

Ok getting straight to the point, i shopped online with Tesco, then i wanted to cancel my order so i phoned them and they said thats fine we'll cancel your order. Deliveryman turns up with my order, said i cancelled it he goes away after saying "no problem we'll get your card refunded the amount.

Well they didnt refund me, and i wouldnt have known if it wasnt due to the fact that it caused me to go overdrawn. So not only have i got £28 charges coming out end of this month, but they also took £30 out my account last week cos i was overdrawn by more than £30 which is due to Tesco not giving me the refund.

As of now im still waiting for Tesco to reply to my very dissatisfied email in which i explain my situation. Dont suppose they will refund anymore than the cost of the shopping though!!

So when you look at the figures £30 charge, £28 charge, £30 on the shopping thats nearly £90 for absolutely nothing!! I cant afford to just blow £90 on fresh air (who can).

I ended my email to Tesco asking the question "how many other people have been ripped off by you not giving them their money back?"

Would be nice to know.

Going off on a tangent sightly how long a time can you claim bank charges back, cos a few years ago when me and my partner split up, i had no money and had to go on benefits (and they kept me waiting with no money for 6 weeks) and i was getting charged for not being able to pay for the charges the month before. On average i was charged £90 a month for a good 6 months. Would be lovely if i could get even 10% back of what ive paid!!

HI and welcome

I have claimed back for the last 6 years. Check over the FAQs on this site. Everything you need including some one to help you through it is here on the site (letters in library section)

As for Tesco, wait for the reply, theya re usually very good. However if you are not happy, write to the head office explaining exactly what has happened. Give as many details as you but be precise(no going off on tangent lol) Explain because of the messing around you have incurred the charges and include in your letter a copy of the charges from you bank (preferably on a bakn letter)

Hope this is useful, let me know

Sue

All advice is given through personal experiences, if in doubt seek legal advice
