Unhappy 2nd Hand Car - What Action Next

Hi All,
I bought an 03 Jaguar S-type in April 07 for £12,995 which was made up of a part ex and £4400 payment by debit card. The mileage on the vehicle was 33.5K and it had a full Jag History.
The dealer I bought the Jag from is a local independant garage.

On the 2nd day of ownership, we went on a holiday to Devon and due to great weather (stayed on the Beach), we did not use the car for 2 days.
When we went to use it, the car would not start and believed the battery was flat. The AA were called, and a jump start later we were running.
On return from holiday, the car did this again, and I believed it was due to the original battery not holding charge. So I replaced with a new one.
However, this occurred again (always) when the vehicle was left without use for >24hrs.
Eventually, after numerous non-starts, we called the garage I bought it from and they took the vehicle away. This was 12 days ago!

During the period the car has been with them, I have not been kept informed and they have not been straight, when I have asked questions to the exact daignosis of the fault. I have written a letter, detailing the problems i've experienced and asked for a refund, adding a letter Trading Standards informed me to send. I've had no response back and they still have the car.

Where do I take it from now? Thx in advance for any advice.......

Well, I go around to them and deal with them direct. Speak to the guy/gal in charge and ask them what is going on. If you have no joy or they don't offer you an acceptable resolution then get some legal advice. I take it you had a guarantee? If you did then you should be able to get you money back. Either that or they should fix the problem for you.
