hi there

a friend of mine bought a car from online car credit a while back and at the top it says "conditional sale agreement regulated by the consumer credit act 1974" is this correct? and enforcable?

A conditional sale agreement is similar to HP, although the car belongs to the consumer and not the finance company. Yes this is regulated by the Consumer Credit Act, it's one of several different types of agreement which would be regulated in this way.

It's not "the same" as the CCA, as the CCA is a statutory Act of Parliament which - among other things - governs certain types of lending arrangement such as credit agreements, Hire Purchase agreements and conditional sale agreements.
