Default Funding Corporation PPI & VT

Hello Everyone, i need some advice,
i got an HP for a car in December 2004 for 4 year

firstly I think i was wrongly advised about the PPI, the guy said i needed one to get the loan or else he couldn't give me one. (not very sure)

Anyway I have decidded to do a VT.

amount of credit = 5799
finance charges = 2899.56
arrangement fee = 250
credit facility = 185
purchase fee = 10
Total amount pyable = 9343.56

monthly payment = 181.22 for 48 months
VT Figure is 4671.78

now for the PPI
PPI (cash price) = 1377.26
total charge for credit = 688.66
Total amount payable = 2065.92
monthly payment = 43.04 for 48 months

Total monthly payment is 224.26 which is the PPI and car monthly payment.
My question is I know i have paid more than half now, Am i liable to pay the rest of the PPI if I do the VT or will i get some rebate

I bought the car from CarGiant and because i used an outside finance company, they gave me no advice, they just told me to sign the faxed agreement.

Hello and welcome,

Can you clarify a few points for me please.

What does VT mean (I'm a woman and we can be a bit thick sometimes)

Who told you that you had to take out ppi with the loan. The car sales assistant or the finance company?

If you used an outside finance company, I think that your agruement is with them and not Cargiant

Can you explain again thanks

Hi thank you,
oh sorry its Voluntary Termination ( I can hand the car back to them if i have paid up to half of the value)

The finance company that gave me the loan over the phone told me that I need to have a PPI before i could be giving a loan

I am currently trying to reclaim mis-sold ppi fee's from the funding corporation and have been for about the last 6 months.
I have to say i am getting nowhere fast at the moment but i am going to keep on fighting, tfc are quite a rude and obnoxious bunch and i do wish i had'nt bothered with this whole guaranteed finance thing, but the car i have is actually very good and has been trouble free for nearly 2 years now.
If i could only ditch the ppi i would be a happy man.

Hello Laura,

The people on this site work hard to help themselves and others to reclaim back their mis-sold ppi and we actually work on strictly no fee policies, we just get great satisfaction from helping each other.

May I suggest that you do not post messages on these threads in an attempt to attract personal financial gain for yourselves unless this is sanctioned by the cag management team. I think it will not

As reasonable ron has nicely pointed out the management are warning caggers re watch out claim touts about

I consider your behaviour deplorable and just about in line with the digusting and unethical exploits of these financial institutes that have deceived customers out of their hard earned cash, and now you are trying to get a piece of this cake.

You should be ashamed of yourself

Hello Laurab08

Just a reminder of some of the site rules:

Forum rules. Please read these before posting

A topic/post will be edited or deleted if it contains:

Touting for business in any way

Offering to advise members by PM or email without good reason - If it is felt that a subject is "sensitive" and would be better discussed off-forum, we ask that members contact a member of the site team BEFORE asking for contact details. This rule is in place to protect our members from claims touts, and also to ensure that any advice given is open to debate, qualification, and where necessary, correction.

This is a self help forum where people can get assistance for free. Any commercial links will be deleted, and the account could be put on Moderation.

A lot of people here have used companies such as yours in the past, and have had upto 50% of their refund paid out in fees, and big mistakes made, especially when the person ends up in front of a judge trying to justify why they should get their refund from mis sold PPI. We do not recommend using them for those reasons.
