Angry CARCRAFT - drive away within 1 hour. HAHAH

Hi

I bought a car for CARCRAFT nearly 4 years ago and had a nightmare from entering their showrooms. To cut a long story short, we choose a car. Sit down to work out finance agreements. I said to them that I didn't want to pay more than what I was paying before 160pounds - sorry got no pound sign.
They managed to talk me into taking out an insurance policy of 23pounds a month for 3 years, to ensure that if anything went wrong with the car the insurance would cover it. However they forget to tell you that you have to take it to their specificed mechinics and have the booklet stamped. The insurance details were sent months after I took the car. Anyway I was buying the car, at the time I had perfect credit history. They kept us waiting for 4 hours with my daughter who was 4 days old. After complaining about the length of time this was taking we was taken into a room to sign over the car. A lady came in very quickly and asked me to sign a form. If it wasn't for my husband asking to see the perticulars of the finance we would have signed upto 360pounds a month for the next 5 years. At this stage my husband got mad, VERY MAD. He repeated, in very strong language, that we was not going to pay 360 pounds a month. One of the staff threatened to throw us out for my husband swearing. He said ****ing do it then but give me my keys to my old car, they refused. Within 5 minutes they pushed us into siging an agreement for 250 pounds a months rather than handing our old keys over. Why we took it i don't know, probably because we knew that our old car would't get us home.

This is not a post asking for help this is a thread to warn you about how crap CARCRAP are.

I also heard off a friend that when they tried to settle the outstanding finance with CARCRAP they had to pay the full interest on 5 years rather then the interest on 2 years which he was ready for settling.

If anyone else has had bad dealing with CARCRAFT then I would love to know. Maybe being forced into buying the insurance??

Regards

please do not cancel the gap insurance! its the most important one you can have, as if your car is written off it will pay the whole loan off not just the value of the car as your insurance would do!

ive been looking at another site and they said that these insurance are bad in that if i give the car back after 2 years i will still have to pay the gap warranty insurance for the full term and you can buy gap insurance from a normal insurance company. i dont need the extended warranty as you can only take it to certain garages and as i will be moving to germany soon i would have to get a car transporter to bring it over.

and im defently making sure that there is no PPI as i def said i dont want this.

saynotoyes.co.uk

its a hard site to follow no one actually gives any real advice just moans a lot.

this is the story so far went down sat 29th signed all paperwork due to proof of address had to go back monday signed everything else driving home realised have not got a copy of anything (excited with new car) they said that a spare seat should arrive in two weeks this sat however my two weeks cooling off period is friday now would they ring on sat say seat is there give me my paperwork and then lost my 14 days to cancel.

i said yes to the gap insurance however when i put value of car for a insurance quote i got a figure i then put in the total amount i would pay including interest and it only costs me 30 pound a year more. so its now insured for the full including interest amount.

as for the warranty like i said no good have to use there garages.

and i dont want any PPI i had to fill in a questionnaire about it and said i dont want it so that should not be there.

oh and the sales dude said that getting finance would be easier by getting insurance which even though he said where optional came across as if i dont get it i wont get a car

just to update on this.

went down to newport this morning salesman said that the papers have just been sent to finance company (had the car ten days). and in the pack i should get will be a section on how to cancel insurances. I got a copy of the contract and i have not got ppi which is good. theres 650 mechanical insurance this i will be cancelling as you can only use there garages i will be getting work done by my local garage. and they want 295 gap insurance this is a reasonable amount to pay so will keep this.

on a plus side apart from address checks the whole event was quite pain free friendly salesman and ended up with a nice car.

Hi Octron,

My name is Buzz. I am a moderator on www.saynotoyes.co.uk .
I am also a member of this site and bankchargeshell.

I notice your comments about www.saynotoyes being "hard to follow".
I think that the site is straightforward to use. We are always friendly and do all we can to help our members and visitors.
We have been around for about 16 months and in that time, we have had a lot of success.
The site now has over 500 registered members, which compared to this site may not seem a lot. Please remember however that this site is for many different organisations, banks, shops, mortgage companies, to name just a few.
Our site is specifically for customers of Yes Car Credit / DAF, so on a percentage basis, I think we are just as successful.
On saying that, we always welcome comments and queries from customers of similar companies, as we have found that they all generally work in the same way.

To answer your other point about us moaning a lot. Well, I think that this could be said of many other similar sites. If we didn't need to moan, then many sites would not have a reason to exist, including this one.

I am sorry that you feel this way , but should you wish to visit us at any time in the future, you would be most welcome and we will do all we can to help you with your problems.

Kindest regards,

Buzz.

hi buzz

its a hard site to follow no one actually gives any real advice just moans a lot

im sorry if it came across to harsh i think all sites that help get back what has been stolen are great now i know you dont have as many members as this site but as i bought a car from carcraft at the weekend i thought great heres a site dedicated to just any pitfalls i may have signed up for and the moderaters do give some sound advice.

when i said a lot of moaning, a lot of people are doing just that i was searching your site last night for hours the advice given by the mods was to see the cab but not a lot of topics started where concluded ie what they did, what did the cab say, whats your next step. it was your site that made me make the decision to cancel insurances i signed for saving me 1500. one suggestion would be have a template section like they have here things like requesting original contract, letters to stop harrasment ect.

i went to my local cab before coming across this site it was about contractal interest after a ccj and i got a blank look and not come across that before not sure ect came here found the Data Protection Act request sent that and on my way to court with the aid of a few letters.

so keep up the good work no doubt in the future i will be moaning how carcraft ripped me off (so i want some good advice)

i will keep visiting your site in fact its bookmarked

steve

Hello Steve,

I'm Bakedalasker and like Buzz I'm a moderator of the site Saynotoyes.

First of all I have noted your idea about templates which I think is a good idea. I will look into this for the site.

When anyone has an issue with Yes Car Credit contract we always recommend our users to make an appointment with their local CAB. The reason behind this is that their are quite a few legal arguments against the YCC contract. These arguments are of a technical nature and require specialist advice of which the CAB are leading the way. Hence our keenest to get our users to make an appointment.

YCC sold sub standard cars and gave a poor customer care service. This resulted in customers handing their cars back only to find they owed thousands of pounds. YCC then set the Debt Collection Agency dogs onto them. These dogs bullied and intimidated the customers to pay up. Not a pleasant situation to be in hence the "whinging". Beleive me the way YCC went about their business anyone could have fallen into their trap once through their doors. Take that statement from me.

Anyway in the early days of the site most victims of YCC would pay up. Some where actually made bankrupt. As the site grew we were told about these legal arguments. Most users who took our advice and went to the CAB are now in a situation where there debt to YCC has been "set aside". That basically means although the debt is technically still owed the chances of a court approving it is zero. These legal arguments are very strong and causing YCC a big problem.

The site has done a good job on this score. If I have a complaint it is that I know there are plenty more victims out there who have not discovered us. So if you know anyone suffering from being a YCC victim you know where to point them. Keep visiting our site, you never know we might one day move onto carcraft.

Cheers,
Baked

hi bakedalasker

without people running sites like yours and this one there would be a serious amount of people in financial hell. i have read the storys on your site this site and bankcharges hell. and some situations i generally feel for them. these banks and dcas are taking peoples food money for crying out louds. i used to execpt the charges and letter fees thinking that the must be right there banks they have legal teams and fancy sounding letters. how wrong was i. i am in the forces and have been for the past 14 years i consider myself well paid 92 pound a day i dont have any loans or credit cards but have a store card (they are on the receiving end of some quality letters as we speak).

i have lived in germany from 96 to 2005 i have served in bosnia ireland iraq the falklands and due to go to afghan. i had a german bank account and have a german wife.

i arrived back due to posting to the uk in 2005 as the army would not send my wage to a german bank i set up an english one as i have only lived in my quarter since june 2005 i do not have a uk address going back more than 5 years. i decide to by a new car and treat myself the only thing i can get is an 8000 car that will cost me 14000 with interest.

so basically i am uncredit worthy because of my job. i will not be made redundant i am paid if im sick im paid if im on holiday im paid everyday but because i cant provide a home address well i have to pay 30% apr.

sites like yours and this one have opened my eyes. have a read of some of my comments how german banks and companys operate.

me i think you and the other mods running these sites are the true heroes. you have given people hope a light at the end of the tunnel. and the sooner these scumbags realise people will not just the british thing and stand in line and take it in the a$$.

i just got my car the begging of the month i can bet you a fiver right now that i will end up with some charge in the next four years however i have all the template letters ready i now know there wrong. and as soon as people at the oft the fsa and any other so called goverment body stamp down and stamp down hard then sites like yours and this and all the other ones will be that hope.

i apologise again if i sounded to hard about your site have a word with the mods here and get permission to use some templates the ones under the dca are fantastic. if fact some of the ones written by users are really good. i would not want to be on the receiving end of some of them.

we all like to moan ive been moaning in this thread. in fact its when people dont moan then theres a problem. the cab is a very good starting point but how about going into the cab office with a letter from the templates and getting them to send that to what ever company signed by the cab office. you would have all the legal jargon signed by them now that would be a scary letter.

steve

Baked and Buzz, why do you come here ONLY to promote your site?

I still cant get my head around why, instead of collaberating with CAG you just post links and direct the users to your site?

I am offended that you register here, only to promote your own site, and do not intergrate into the rest of the forum.

I am not saying what you do at saynotoyes is not good, but I am dubious about your alliance with Moor who take 45% plus 7% vat, and i have the feeling your users are only offered legal help from moor and no alternative, when on this site, ALL the users are empowered and given the opportunity to claim themselves.

Sorry for hijacking your thread Danler,

Lou xx

With respect, their site site as been around far longer than this one and has assisted many YCC customers along the way.

Moor Advice is just one option given to site visitors.

On a more serious point..your comments could be seen as slanderous. I would give some careful thoughts in your reply to this thread.

Note; I have no connection to the saynotoyes forum at all.

Hardly slanderous.

I was a moderator here, and I feel very storngly about what this site does.

If anyone need to "check" themselves its the moderators of that site, coming here ONLY to promote their own cause like Baked has done. Buzz at least has the decency to take interest elsewhere in our forum.

dpg Im laughing honestly from your comments, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxx.

You can buy standalone GAP cover for about £100 for 4 years cover. Surfandprotect are 1 company I know of who do this but just Google Gap Insurance and I'm sure you will find plenty of others much cheaper than motor dealers.

All they do is cover their running costs. We have a dedicated server and other things which cost a lot of money. We get a million hits a day and so the bandwith is expensive.

We have personally helped people claim over 1.5 million 9and thats just the tip of the iceberg)

We ask, if users say no we still help them.

Putting up a donate button is hardly the same as an alliance with Moor who take over 50% of the claim after winning when the user can do it himself, putting no money back into the site, where as every penny donated buys new things for us or upgrades our packages, no one gts paid a bean for it, where as Morr take the moeny and run.

It is Biased full stop.

Considering your a member here you seem to be acting rather retaliatory in respect of my comments, is it a coincidence that all your posts too are about saynotoyes and kensington?? xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxx.

Oh and by the way I hate yes as much as the next person, but a small claim hardly needs Moor involved.
