Default Car finance with welcom finance

Please help. I bought a car from carcraft through welcome finance in february 2008 in the 6 months i have had it its broken down on me 3 times!! I have been towed to garage twice now. At the moment its on my drive and wont start. The mechanic at my local garage who has fixed the problems with it says i have been sold a pile of rubbish!!! I am paying over the odds for the car an 02 vauxhall corsa and staggering monthly payments is there anything i can do about this as i am truly not happy that the car is coting so much to repair when i have only had it 6 months!!!

Hi Abolmoch,

Welcome to the Consumer Action Group

Sorry to hear about your car, so much for all the adverts, eh !!

First, have a good read of the FAQ's at the bottom of this post, it will help you ge started.

Have a look though this forum below, see if anyone there has come accross the same problem with Carcraft. You can start a new thread in that forum and get help from people who have delt with Carcraft and Welcome before.

hi abolomch and welcome

first question is did welcome sell you one of there micky mouse policies to cover breakdow etc.
why are you paying for repairs, car craft and welcome should be dealing with this.
its a bit late now but the likes of welcome and car craft get there cars from auctions. there 140 point checks mean squat.
my advice would be to contact welcome and say you intend to return the vehicle and list the problems. there reply will be its down to car craft. thats crap.
as you have had the vehicle for such a short time the sale of goods act applies. goods not fit for purpose etc.
dont take no for an answer and any problems come back to update your thread.
did they sell you one of there policies to cover mechanical defects?

Yes i took out mechanical breakdown insurance, which i am paying £500.00 for. And they did pay for the work to be done last time, but i had loss of work due to no car thay wouldnt give me courtesy as they said they didnt have one available!!! The last time the car broke down i missed 3 days of my weeks holiday because of it. Hence carcraft and welcome were not the slightest bit sympathetic at all!! I had to do all the chasing and the phone calls, each time either said they would ring me back they never did!! Welcome said it was carcrafts fault and vice versa, i ended up using the citizens advice bureaus help and they did get it all sorted for me. But now the car has broken down again surely i am covered in some way of the car not been as satisfactory in the first place. Thanks

you now need to get this back in car craf/welcome court

to begin with you need the ammo to back up your case.
what i would do is contact the aa/rac and get an independent report on the state of the vehicle. they cant argue with that. ime affraid its more money to shell out but worth it.
come back when they have given your report and we can then progress
