Default 04 car with loads of problems

hi,

dont know if anyone can help but i bought a brand new citroen c3 in june 04 and have had endless problems with it. It is always breaking down and then they never have a courtesy car for me. Last month i broke down again and had to be towed back to the dealership, this was 2 days before my warrenty ran out. I spoke to citroen head office and said that i would like an extra years warrenty on it because of all the problems i have had and they agreed to an extra year but only on anything engine related.
Today i have broken down again this time something to do with the gear box. I have told them that i am not prepared to pay for it but they said they have to inspect it 1st then decide. I am so fed up with this car it has never been right from day one. what rights do i have??

Expecting someone to respond within 25 minutes of your first post is being optimistic to say the least . Have you tried contacting Trading Standards for advice on the issue? It might be worthwhile, but the problem that could arise is the fact that you have had the car for so long now. I don't think it is an insurmountable problem, but it means if you end up going to small claims court that the onus is on you to be able to prove the problems and issues,

Bexster30 – I would recommend contacting a local Qualified Independent Engineer, He/she will be able to give you a full report based on his Independent findings. Make sure they are Independent and qualified and members of such recognised organisations such as The IAEA, IMI and so on.
Cost could be anything from £60 to £150 but as an Independent Engineer their reports can be used against the garage as leverage or should you need to go to court they will be accepted as expert witness reports. Again make sure they are qualified and listed with the relevant institutes. In these sorts of cases usually you can recover such fees from the garage.
