I have a hp agreement with First Response which is due to finish August 2007. I wanted to pay it up now as I want to sell the vehicle as I am buying a new one (not on finance I hasten to add). I called them yesterday for a figure and was told it was £750! When I questioned this I was told that there were charges of £360 on the account which I knew nothing about. I was then told that I would not be able to dispose of the vehicle until the £750 had been cleared.
Now, I'm not sure if this is correct or not. Surely, if I've paid all the payments (4

including the transfer fee, then the vehicle becomes mine and I can sell it. Can First Response basically hold me to ransom for the charges as well before they will release their rights over the vehicle.
Any advice on this would appreciated because I really want to sell the car as soon as pos, tax runs out end of July and I don't really want to have to re-tax it.
