Hi,

I bought a car from them a year ago.
I did know about the warranty but was told that i had to take it or the finance company would not sell me the car.

The warranty is worth NOTHING.

Nothing is covered, and i honestly believe that it does not even exist.
I ahve been trying for a year to find ways of getting out of the agreement but have never got anywhere. They are experts at ripping people off. All i try and do now is warn people to not buy a car off them no matter what.
I have paid out a fortune this last year in car repairs that i have had to pay for myself.

Sorry its bad news but they are scum.

PS is the warranty with NAC?

hi
yeh the warranty is with NAC. my friend has been the CAB who have now referred her to trading standards, bcoz she didnt rec the "warranty" paperwork in the post with the finance agreement within 7 days(she had to ask for it after anotha payment was taken out of her acc) the CAB think this may help her case bcoz you must rec all paperwork within that time legally, trading standards were happy to take the case on as the file on carcraft is growing daily!!!as for the finance side of it,they said the same thing to her and as she had never applied for finance before went along with it bcoz she thought this was the norm, carcraft ARE scum and trading standards need to investigate all the claims and do something about them,

carcraft are apparently "looking into " my friends case, the fact that she didnt get a copy af the agreement will perhaps be her get out clause,if anyone else has had dealings with carcraft over their warranty i would be glad of any advice or tips you could pass on

Hi I bought a car from them in March and was also told that the finance company would only give me credit if I took the NAC - I reluctantly said i'd take it at a cost of £37 per month - HOWEVER - he made no mention of the fact that it was another loan from a different company and it's that company who receive the monthly payment from me.

This suggests that the "other" finance company gave carcraft the full sum of cash for the NAC immediately, so it's not like I can say "Screw you carcraft, im not paying for it" as doing this will go against my credit score.

Furthermore, the credit agreement for the car finance makes no reference to this "FORCED GUARANTEE" so I am starting to believe that he lied when he said they would refuse credit in order to get the sale of the NAC (which believe me, I would NOT have taken normally)

So if carcraft have already had full payment for the NAC then the problem is actually getting them to refund it, as I'm stuck with a finance agreement from the "other" finance company and cant do anything about it.

Has anyone EVER heard of a case of NAC refunding the amount for the guarantee?

Regards

Hi, I brought a car from carcraft 3 monts ago, and was miss sold breakdown insurance, gap protection and payment protection. to cut a long story short the saleswoman told us about the insurances, but gave no price or mention of costs, she used phrases like "im going to give you this, and add that" etc, anyway, wen the credit agreement came out for us to sign i queried it as the montly payments we had agreed had risen by 150 quid, to pay for the insurances she had "given" us, i said we didnt want them as we couldnt afford to pay for them and asked for them to be taken off, she informed me that it would take another3 hours to draw up another agreement but i could sign it and then phone the next day to cancel them and i wouldf not be charged. anyway wen i cancelled they said it takes 12 weeks for a new agreement to be drawn up and in the meantime i had to maintain payments of the full amount! i finally got them to agree to lowering the amount to the amount wthout the cost of the insurance but am still not happy with the way i was mis sold things!

hi mattyj23

Exactly the same type of sales technique was used on my friend, the casual "and because im such a nice guy i'll throw this in for you".She has reported them to Trading Standards who were more than happy to help bcoz they have had so many complaints about carcraft and their sales team, will keep you posted on whatever my friend gets back,Have you thought about contacting Trading Standards yourself over your agreement?

I bought my car from carcraft in May. I have had so much go wrong!!! I travelled up to their Leeds branch from Essex to take delivery of my car, and when they salesman was going through everything, my interest rate was double what I had been told on the phone!! I was told that this unfortunately was all they could offer me, and as I had already sold my other vehicle, and travelled up to Leeds on a one way ticket I felt cornered to sign. On the way home, I had extreme difficulties in working my CD player, only to find out it was an MD player! After weeks of complaining, I eventually got them to pay for a new CD player to be installed as they had advertised the car as having one. During this, I had great difficulties in obtaining a tax disc for my car as they said that the insurance note they had provided me was invalid. It took four days worth of going back and forward to the post office & ringing Carcraft on their 0845 number until I was finally able to get tax - at which point my car could have easily had been clamped/towed away for having no tax.

Also on the way home from Leeds to Essex, the warning lights popped up for engine service and the airbags. I contacted carcraft again and again to resolve this, as they should not have sold me a car that was due for a service if they explain that I should have it done 6000 miles/6 months whatever comes first after buying the car. The airbags are also potentially a case of life or death and should have been checked before they sold me it! Everytime I called Carcraft, they put me straight through to NAC warranty. NAC said that because it's within 3 months Carcraft deal with it. I was going round in circles. Carcraft were still putting me through to NAC.
Nearly 6 months later, I have still not had an oil service or my airbags fixed. They are now saying that they do not do Oil services, and the airbags are not covered by the Warranty.

Help!

Hi
Havent been on the site for ages,so heres an update,my friend (as above)reported carcraft to the FO,who replied saying they would look into her case, last saturday she rec a letter from carcraft"cancelling" her warranty""as requested""!!!!This was after lodging a formal complaint against them, having rec approx 10 "give us our money "letters from them, visits from debt collectors, the lot!!!She sent the FO all the correspondance between herself and carcraft, and after nearly 5 months of stress and worry carcraft finally decided to cancel this worthless piece of c***,the diff between yourself and my friend is that she was unaware that she had the warranty, and her case was that she was mis-sold this. The FO told my friend that they had over 1000 complaints against carcraft, and so her case would take some time to resolve,In the letter she rec on sat carcraft asked her to withdraw her complaint against them now this matter had been settled!!From reading on this site no one is happy with the warranty, which appears to cover virtually sod all anyway!!!keep complaining !!!!
