british gas and revenue assurance

Hi

I have an outstanding elec bill (£1.5K) from a previous address. I have acknowledged the debt and set up a £100 monthly direct debit which is all I can pay at the moment. I do intend to increase the payments once my earning improve. Anyway I have received a letter from Revenue Assurance based in Hertfordshire saying the whole debt is now payable, but I do not have the money. Are British Gas allowed to do this after I agreed to pay and will this now be an adverse comment with a credit reference agency. I am getting really worried about this as I do not have the money to pay the full amount

Could you provide the full title address and post code of revenue assurance we can see if they are entitled to ask for payments from you.
I take it BG did not advise you of any new arrangement.
This could be any company asking for money.
This company has to prove that the are entitled to chase you
