Me and my partner moved into our home in June 2005, british gas supplies both our gas and electricity, we have a prepayment meter for both and up till april 2006 had no problems. In feb 06, we received a letter from british gas saying that our prepayment card meter was being changed to a key meter, we received a date for the changeover, 4th may, they turned up in April to change the meter, two weeks later we received a letter saying on the prepayment card we originally had we were paying the wrong tariff, and that we owed them £51 which would be taken from the meter at £5 a week, fair enough, 10 weeks and it would be paid up,

I rang BG in October and explained to them that i was sure i had paid my debt, the lady i spoke to said she would have the meter updated to stop taking the £5 a week,to cut a long story short, i was still paying the £5 in November, i rang them again, this time giving a meter reading, and again in dec and again in jan 07, they finally stopped taking the £5, i received a bill from them requesting immediate payment of £24.89 for my bill, i went mad, obviously, this was 14th january, they said they would put an investigator onto my account, as it states on their records that we have had a key token meter since 2005, i have rang and rang and got nowhere, anyone suggest what to do next, i am changing suppliers as soon as this mess is cleared up.
