| | Basic Account Customer | How the hell do you get a gas meter moved Title pretty much covers it, gas company claim its owned by national grid, national grid don undertsand the question, some company called "on stream" apparently owns the box but not the pipes.
Damn thing is attached to my property and I want it moved becuase the render is cracked behind it and I need to carry out repairs. Gas fitters say they cant do it without consent of the power company, leading me neatly back to square one.
Anyone got any bright ideas? |

| | Basic Account Customer | Re: How the hell do you get a gas meter moved Onstream are your meter operator, and for moving the meter a small distance (under 2 meters, as said above) they would do the work. The job with Onstream would need to be booked through your energy supplier - there may be a charge for this.
If you need the meter moved further than this, then it can get quite complex with 3rd party companies such as Fulcrum Connections moving the main supply, your own corgi engineer routing your internal pipework and then your meter operator fitting the meter. Sounds simple enough, but getting all three working to the same schedule can be a right pain in the a**. |
