Default Hi folks

I ve joined this forum, to speak to and get advice from people who are either in the same predicament or has been at some point, as I am. I got a quarter bill from Scotish power 4 years ago for the amount of ......£5383.12 since then i have battled with SP for years, with the assitance from energywatch at times. I have disputed this for years, had customer relation person after person etc, lost count of who many meters, check meters changed. I am now being threatened with disconnection next wed as the bill is outstanding. During this time I have continued to pay bills as and when i receiving them, minus the total amount. Its looking like I am going to have to pay this off, but i am very reluctant to get a pre pay meter installed, can I arrange for a monthly payment at this late stage.

I fought the same kind of case for my Dad - it turned out the 'tariff' hadn't been updated when the prices went up (on a pre-paid meter). I called and kicked up a stink and asked them who has the responsibility of updating it to which they replied it would be them. So I asked them how can they bill my dad for an error on their part, they then replied to say that this amount would therefore be scrapped. Same theory would apply I would say!!
