Default Eon and £6,500 bill

I Recieved my Eon bill about 4 weeks ago and was totally shocked to find it was for £6500.
I am on a key meter and have been for years ,we changed over to Eon a couple of months ago.

Anyway my husband phoned them and the wowmen said no thats incorrect ,we will rework out your bill and send it out to you.

The bill arrived today and we are now in credit for £271 ,so i phoned them and said ,you have send me a new bill and if i am £271 in credit like you say will you be sending me the funds (would come in very helpfull right now ).
The guy said if you are in credit we are happy to send you the funds ,but because you are on a key meter he can`t see hows thats correct ,he said he would email the lady who reworked are bill out on the 1st july and let us know.

I am just wondering if the bill was reworked out only 4 days ago then could it be correct.

I have had the meter read at least 2 times in about 8-10 weeks ,but before the £6500 bill arrived

A similar thing happened to me when i was told I was £1440.00 in credit, I asked them to send me a cheque at which point they said they will need to double check the account, 3 days later I again contacted them to be told I was in credit by only £176.50 so again asked for a cheque to be sent out............same as last time "we need to clarify it first"
Havent you already done this?
One week later I received a letter from them which appologised for any misunderstanding but infact I owe them £89.
Whistle comes to mind.

Hi Sugg

On July 5 the "Daily Mail" reported how an 84 year old pensioner had attempted suicide after spending three freezing days without heating, lighting or cooking facilities due to E-On's cock-ups.

He was a Lancaster bomber navigator in WW II - wish his aim had been a bit better!

Good luck!

With regards to the pensioner, everyone is forgetting the fact that no one ever let eon know he was elderly. If eon had known in the first case, he would have been dealt with by the vulnerable customers section who would have insured he hadn't been disconnected. The energy companies aren't always at fault, some of it is stupid customers!
