Default Npower Changed My Gas account to a business account.

Hi All.

I run a small business from home and I have just been going through my bills.

I noticed That Npower Business Gas has transferd my account from British Gas to Npower Business Gas.

This is odd since I am in debt with British Gas on my consumer account.

I do not remember asking for a transfer and I have no record of a writen contract.

I need your help folks my brain has turned to mush trying to work a solution out.

And no i cant pay the bill asI am not trading at the moment.

Hi Josh, a couple of comments. First I would contact N Power and ask them how you were moved from BG to them. Ask for a copy of the contract. If they say it was done over the phone then ask them for a CD of conversation when the agreement was made (all conversations are taped !) If they cannot come up with it how can there be an agreement. I would also contact BG as it is unusual for a provider to let you go if there is a debt on the account. Finally, you pay a far higher charge for being a business user, for one thing there will be a heafty standing charge every month. Personally I would be getting the supply back to domestic tarriff - it shouldnt be a problem unless you are using the supply for commercial manufacturing.

Hi noggy.

Ive contacted Energy watch and they put me intouch with a lady from Npower Domestic. Who by the sounds of things I would of employed in a snap.

She said I have electric with domestic even no I am being billed by Business as well. So im geting billed by both.

She then said i dont have gas with Domestic but couldnt tell me about Business. Which iswhat Iwanted to know about.

She said she would inevstigate the complaint as it has been through Energy Watch.

I asked her how could I have been switched away from british Gas then there was silence.

They are apparently going to write to me so I think I will ring them Monday and ask for a follow up.

Now we no how these people become multi millionaires.

Yep, when Energywatch are involved they are duty-bound to reply constructively to your complaint within 10 working days. Watch them come up with a "classic" explaination !
