The debt should be taken automatically, no matter how much you are putting on.

Is there any possibility of a gas leak? If you check around and can smell gas, call Transco immediately.

I think you need to advise them that this is an emergency because of the inability to get heating/hot-water and that you will sue them if this is because of a fault on the meter that they are responsible for.

It may be worthwhile talking to your MP to see if he can intervene on your behalf - this definitely sounds like a problem on the meter if you are topping up as much as you say your are as debt is usually taken at a daily rate.

Just a though, but the meter probably has the ability to show how much gas is being used, as well as the monetary balance. That might enable you to determine if your credit is going down so fast because of high gas usage, or because of the debt being taken off.

How did you get into debt on a pre-payment meter anyway?

Go to screen 25 (shows min collection) and 26 (shows max collection) these 2 screens should have the same amount and is weekly collection. Screen 27 shows you how much is owed so should go down every week by the amount on 25 and 26.

To get to screens press button A and hold it in, when it beeps release and keep pressing in and out to get to screen 24, then insert card and keep pressing in and out button A to move up the menus.
