Default Electricity price hike!

Hello everybody!
Electricity prices are increasing every year, does anybody know if there are any more price hikes expected? I am very concerned about my business.

Dont quote me on this but I dont think there will be any for a while, we have recently seen some huge increases and the market is kinda leveled out now, if anything it might even come down slightly but no were near what it went up. On that note it is impossible to predict as the energy market is so unpredictable and is base on heaps of criterias. Shop about differant companies and tarrifs.

Energywatch spokesman was on the telly over the weekend, saying that if the power companies try to pass on the recent oil price hikes to the consumer, they will fight them.

Reading between the lines, They'll do it if they can get away with it

ozzywizzard's right, the markets are extremely unpredicable. If the providers knew about wholesale price rises, they could prepare for it by advance purchasing energy and warning their customers - but the electricity market is dependent not just on wholesale prices, but the weather, security of supply and the gas prices- which as we all know have experienced of late sharp rises due to rising reliance on importation.

The best thing SMEs can do is shop around for the best deals and be energy effecient. You don't have to spend thousands on energy efficient equipment, just be smart about the way you use the electricity your business pays for. Remember use less - pay less, simple as that!

So the prices 'will' be going up then.
