scottish gas stress!

please help!

I recently moved out of flat at which not until the very end of the year (of our tennancy) did we get our first gas bill. it was for £600! anyway being students we didn't have that money exactly straight away so we decided to wait until we got our deposits back and use the deposits to pay it off. (we still don't have the deposit back yet but that's another story!) anyway now two of us have got the money but our third flatmate is refusing to pay us...the problem is the bill is in my name and this has now affected my credit rating...is it possible that i could transfer the bill into her name?

Not without her permission unfortunately, and if the bill is solely in your nme I'm afraid you're legally responsible for it. Your only option would be to take your flatmate to the small claims court for her share of the bill, but as far as Scottish Power are concerned, whoever is named on the bill is responsible for paying it, they'll see any other argument over who should be paying what as your problem!
