Default Getting a free 0870 number

Is it worth getting an 0870 number for dca's to call me on and what are the pros and cons. Also is there any providers doing free ones?

The CAG group were looking into this as a service to members, but I've heard nothing so far. 0870 numbers currently offer a (small) revenue share, but this is expected to end within the next year, possibly sooner. Take a look at FleXible Telecoms™ - Free personal & business non-geographic phone numbers

I give an 0871 number to them, and have it set so that calls are only actually received during convenient times - rest of time they get voicemail which I receive as an email attachment. Find it quite amusing, though, that several have refused to accept it as a valid number cos it doesn't start with 01 or 02. They themselves always use 087 of course, and insist there is no other (standard rate) number to contact them on. Muppets!
Have also just found a way to call 0870 numbers from my mobile and have it come from inclusive minutes, though, so slightly more prepared to call aforementioned muppets now if I really need to.

You can get 08* numbers for free, though it's unlikely you'll see any revenue share - need to receive LOTS of calls before that happens. When I was running a webhosting company we provided in partnership with another telco, I've kept the service running and there are several active accounts, yet no sign of revenue share still

I'm not actually interested in making any money out of them, just making people after money having to ring it to contact me

The 0701 numbers from the site linked seem ideal for that then. Might get one myself
