Default Mobile Phone Bill.

I just got last months mobile bill from BT mobile.

My wife had made a few international calls by mistake, without realising that it was £1 per minute.

My service provider had barred outgoing international calls, however for some reason the calls got connected.

When I called customer services to ask why these calls were not barred, they said "not too sure", but I still had to pay the charges, because the bill said so.

Since I never authorised international calls on my service, I am not willing to pay for the call costs.

Do I have a leg to stand on?

Default Re: Mobile Phone Bill.

I think you will still have to pay it. Simply because it is quite obvious you have to pay a higher rate to call abroad especially on a mobile, I cannot see, how you would get out of this, as you effectively authorised those calls to be made by your wife, regardless of what you said to BT, as she had your phone....

As far as I remember, you dont request "bar on international calls" they just dont enable the "activation of international calls" which is different. Sometimes the barring is not 100% foolproof too, for instance limits can be set, but if your last call went over the limit you will only be barred after the call ends regardless if you have gone over by 1p or £100.

I used to work for Vodafone, so im not saying this is accurate, just my interpretation of how we used to work...

Sorry
