| | Platinum Account Customer | Re: Tmobile cancelling contract Wait wait - there are too many different things happening!
Taking the wrong amount is not 'breaking the contract' this is not an issue. T-Mobile changed their rules early last year meaning no tariff changes would be allowed for the duration of the contract - this was because too many people were ripping them off, so I woulkd have expected you to agree to the 12 month commitment at the selected price. The difference in price for the remaining 4 months isn;t coing to be that much, so you might as well keep it going, and in 2 months write giving formal notice of cancellatrion on the anniversary. As an alternative, if you know of someone who wants to take on the contract and its liability, you can transfer it to them for no charge.
The wrong DD amount issue would make me cancel the DD completely any pay them by cheque or BACS transfer, rejecting any additional fees charged for non-DDM payments (on the basis DDM requires ultimate trust, TMobs error ended this and you will only make payment under your direct control).
I don't see what copy bills and transcripts will do in this matter, except generate more printouts. With 66% of the contract already fulfilled, use up all the free time and texts, and enjoy rending your Recorded Delivery letter cancelling. You can do it now if you want, giving plenty of advance notice to ensure your commitment ends on the anniversary date.

| | Basic Account Customer | Re: Tmobile cancelling contract If you are a T-Mobile customer on a 12 month contract and change tariff to a Flext plan, then it will convert to an 18 month contract, but only extending your present contract by 6 months. So if you only had 3 months left on the contract, you would now have 9.
There are options for 12 and 18 months on Flext, but the allowance is considerably smaller on the 12 month option. If you contact their customer service department and explain that the extension in the contract was not outlined to you and that you are willing to revert to your previous tarrif or to one of a similar to that but, only 12 months, then you may be victorious. You must really press the point that you were not informed of the charges.
I am a T-Mobile customer and have been for years, I have found that calling on different days or times (particularly 10 mins before they close) can prove to be worthwile as the service can vary dramatically. I have had charges for delivery of upgrades refunded in the past when they were not detailed initially and a similar change of tarrif scenario a few years back. I just kept repeating that the extension had not been detailed!!!
If all else fails, asks for their supervisor or complaints department details, this usually swings it! |
