Default Mobile phone companies and CRA's

Does anyone have a mobile phone account with a perfect payment history and their credit report from a CRA?, the reason I ask is because I currently have an account with O2 and they do not process the account with any CRA, I previously had an account with Vodafone and they processed a default with the CRA's, now the default is removed, the file is showing no missed or late payments, what I don't know is whether this account was processed before any payments were late/missed?

If I now missed a payment with O2, would they begin processing the account? I have a query in with Information Commissioners Office re defaults on disputed accounts and am interested to know if the telecomms companies only process 'bad' accounts.

Hi
Dont know if this helps but I have a contract with O2 and a perfect payment history - no records on Experian (havent checked the other 2) and last year I had an extra account with O2, I loaned the phone to a friend and they didnt pay the bill. I didnt ever receive a default notice however 12 months later I get a knock on the door - court baliff chasing a £677 O2 defaulted payment. I denied all knowledge, however paid the £677 and court costs, checked my Experian record - the default was there as satisfied !! It has caused me so much trouble, I reported it to O2 fraud dept and they were going to investigate - am still waiting, however I didnt chase it up as I was fortunate to be able to get a letter from the person I leant the phone to, who admitted what they had done this resolved the problem it had caused by producing it to the bank. Experian said they would ask O2 to remove the default, I got a letter saying that O2 had allowed them to remove it, checked experian a couple of months later and the satisfied default was still there. I complained to Experian who later came back to me and said there had been a mistake and O2 would not allow it to be removed.
Now reading your post has just reminded me of it and I think I will now re visit this and get it sorted once and for all.

So to cut a long story short, in my experience they dont record good payment history however they do record the defaults
Regards
Sue

Thats exactly what I thought - thanks for that, seems they do use this as punishment rather than the claims that:

Quote:
The defendant registered details with the agencies relating to the claimant's application for credit upon entering into the service agreement. the defendant continued to register with the agencies account activity/behaviour once the service agreement had been entered into.
The above is obviously not accurate as it appears they only register the info if you default. Interesting.

Jan, I've a contract with O2 also and no missed payments, and Equifax at least shows each month as being paid on time. I haven't had a chance to check Experian yet, as I can't seem to get their site to bring my report up. That's something I'll have to chase up when I get home.

That's strange as my account isn't shown on any of the three credit reports - wonder how they select which to process then?
