Default Unsolicited Sales Call from '3G'

There has been a surge in calls from an Indian call centre offering 'unbeatable deals' on some (unspecified) network providing you with the latest Nokia fone 'free' and 200 minutes per month on '3G'.

Despite being on the TPS list, these persistent calls continued as - because they originated outside the UK, were effectively immune from any enforcement action. The calls invariably arrived with 'No Number' or 'International' so it was impossible to trace these calls back, and even polite enquires to the sales agent who they were; "agents of 3G" it took a long time to discover that they were selling contracts for connections to 3UK, one of 4 active 3G networks in the UK.

I finally received a call (I have ACR Anonymous Call Rejection on my line) THIS time bearing a number - 0018007018418. Aha! I though, Got you.
It turns out that the number is fake - and they are playing fast and loose by presenting a number that (a) cannot be dialled back, and (b) playing fast and loose with the technology.

If you brerak the number down into its component parts, the details are clearer; 00 (added to any number originating from outside the UK)
1 is the Country code for the USA, but the remaining digits (800) 701 8418 show this number as routing from a US Freefone - probably the Indian call centre is routing all its outbound calls from the USA, and this number slipped through.

Have any other CAG members received these calls and the same (or similar) calling number? I'm trying to track down the US carrier, and need a few more numbers to discover the number ranges.

Me - here, as you may remember, same number. Haven't had any in the past month though - they can't put the phone down on their end, I've found out, so I can irritate the hell out of them - my post shows the result of that...
