Default Orange Nightmare!Defaults!!

Hi,
Basically im in a rut, i moved house and notified orange, i fell behind in payments but obviously a phone bill was last of worries from moving house, they however continued to send letters to the previous address...and default notices. which i obviusly never got.
The debt (something like 100 pounds) passed onto a debt collections agency, paid it off not a problem (after ringing orange to pay the bill anyway!)
But i know its a default on my report, its not fair as i let them know, but they are saying they can only show default paid which im not happy with!
HELP!!!
i want to start sending letters to them...get the ball rolling for them to correct it...what do i do?
please help!

Hmm... do you have proof that you notified them of your address? Did you write, or call? It may be worth sending a Subject Access Request to Orange asking for everything generally, but also specifically for call notes. If you can prove that you notified them of your change of address, yet they continued to send to your old one, you can complain to the Information Commissioner about their breach of the Data Protection Act. They have a responsibility to make sure that all the data they hold is up to date and accurate, and their failure to do so despite your efforts has caused you considerable financial and emotional distress, and left a black mark on your credit record, which may affect your ability to get credit in the future.

The S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) is in the bank template section - you'll need to modify it to your own circumstances as it's modelled for banks - and enclose a £10 cheque/PO. Special Delivery it! They have 40 days from receipt to send you ALL the info they have relating to you and your account.

Yes, go the Subject Access Request route - if they received your letter, it will be included in your file they are obliged to send you.
