Default Tiscalli+Bulldog broadband(Quite long)

Hey everyone...i have a rather tedious and "fraud-like" story that i need help with...it happened earlier this year but ive had alot of trouble due to it.

Firstly:
I was with tiscalli for a while...had 2 mb connection, was payed by direct debit. one day they cut off our internet. we (me/dad/mum/brother)called them up from time to time asking what the problem was. they said something about the bill not being payed (at which it was about £25 per month). we sorted that out and when we got our internet back we had not realised over the couple of months is that they changed our internet speed to half a mb-i.e.512kb...and STILL charged us for the 2 mb connection.
we called them up again!...they said something along the lines that they cant change the price for us or change the settings because we didnt ask them to...so we did and they refused to, for no reason at all.

as well as that they told us our line was suspended at a certian time...but they still charged us while we werent using it! and now we cant get a migration code to move from tiscalli onto another broadband service, which has now made us set up a new line in the household for just internet duties.they mentioned that they messed up and owed us £90 but soon after AGAIN told us we were suspended from usage and used the £90 they owed us to pay off the time over the suspention.
And i read their terms and conditions+contract and they acctually broke their own contract laws.

Secondly:
Earlier this year i had a guy from bulldog broadband knock on my door.
he started giving me his sales talk and i refused to sign up, i told him these words exactly "Im not paying the bills in this houshold, my parents pay the bills so i cant agree to sign up for anything"...i mentioned that if they came back later and talked to my mum she'll decide. he then said would you mind If i take your number and call you later to see if your mum would like to sign up?
From then is where it all went bad....
he called me up later in the evening, again i refused...
about a week later i get a letter from bulldog saying that the change from bt to bulldog would be done within 2 weeks!
(now im thinking that the sales person that signed me up Illegally!...he used my details, of the very little i gave him and signed me up with an account.Identity fraud?breach of the data protection act?)
so i called bulldog and told them to cancel it before it goes through..
after 2 weeks bulldog had changed the line...without my permission as well as the permission of the phoneline bill payer...constantly for months we kept asking bulldog to take off the connection, i was directed and redirected to many different people who all told me different stories day by day...
sent a letter to the head office....no reply
demanded that we speak to someone of higher authority...was refused.

just not sure what to do now because were paying bt £125 or something like that to get a new line because there's too much hassle with the other one.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Nethstar.

The first thing I would do is call your local trading standards office regarding bulldog. You clearly stated that you did not want to sign up so yes they have fraudulently used your details. Also write to Bulldog asking for proof that you have agreed to sign up, if you write to them, use recorded delivery and keep all records of corespondance. I am not sure if using S.A.R applies here but someone will correct me if I am wrong.

Secondly regarding Tiscalli are you under contract? It seems very strange that they wouldnt allow you to migrate. However, If they have broken their terms and contract them you may be able to get it cancelled.

First things first though, call Trading Standards about Bulldog! I have had some problems with Bulldog and was glad to get away from them. If you are looking for another ISP look at Zen internet. You pay a little more but they have excelent customer service and the connection is superb.

Sorry to hear your problems Nethstar. So how it all end up? Did you have to pay Tiscali , what about Buldog, did they apologized?

I am really looking for some feedback on Tiscali. Cheers
