Default Telewest Broadband :) negotiated a discount !!

Hi all.

Have had Blueyonder broadband for ages with a telewest cable and phone package.

I spoke to them last week as Sky keep advertising new customer rates and special offers. I telephoned Telewest to close my contract (didn't really want to close it but you know.. a white lie here and there to negotiate with !!) and see if they would be prepared to offer me any incentives to stay.

I was polite and respectful to the call centre operative and without trying hard at all got Supreme TV package for £8.75 pm {was £17.50}, 2mb Broadband for £9.99pm {was £17.99} and telephone line rental for £5.25 pm {was £11.50}.

Total £23.99 pm as opposed to £47, so basically half price.

I then negotiated this discount for six months rather than the three months as first offered.

I even managed to get a letter to confirm this ! They couldn't have been more helpful.

Just be polite and do some web searches to get some figures as guides to what the others companies offer and use it as a way to get a reduction in your bill. I think it's better to get through to right section so make sure you get to the people to discuss termination of contracts.

All in all a nice 10 mins work.
