Angry cash back problems mobile phones

Hi,

I have a 12 month contract with 3 which I purchased with Just3g.com in april this year, The contract with just3 involved a cash back amount which seemed a good deal, I have been unable to contact them, Telephone calls you are just left getting a warm ear, the web site is up for updating for the last knows how many weeks. I have now found out that my recorded delivery is being returned. It seems from website threads that many others are having the same problem. I have a feeling that I will not get back the £252.00 cash back on the contract. I telephoned 3 but they say its not their problem and I must see out the 12month contract with them at £40 per month.

Sadly, this is correct - the promise of cashback was made by the distributor you purchased from, not the mobile network - the network has no responsibility of the actions of these cowboys, who are often fly-by-night then disappear with few (if any) cashback claims paid. Basing any purchase on a cashback deal from anyone other than the network that is offering it has been a recipe for disaster for years, and will continue to be so. I think biting the bullet and making full use of your inclusive minutes is the only way to get any form of satisfaction, all you've done is lost the icing on the cake!

My pleasure - if it makes toy feel any better, the networks now have a stated policy of removing accredditation from firms who default in tihs way, so things might get better in the long run, but just like some double-glasing offers, it it sounds too good to be true.....

I have just ended my contract with O2 with the CRAP PHONE WAREHOUSE, I sent my disconnection letter on the same day as I sent my last bill. My phone has been disconnected and surprise surprise they never received my bill.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have tried to download a copy of my last bill from my online account, which is now defunct, as I no longer have the contract
Crap phone have told me that I must get my last bill from O2 even though it had their billing logo etc and as far as I am concerned my contract was with them not O2 .
I feel that the fact I have waited two months (they will not pay for 30 days after receipt) and I have to chase up another bill to get my money back (probably in another two months) is so unfair. They know I paid my bill, they know I fulfilled my contract, and yet I have to jump through hoops to get my money. It makes me really angry that they can put these conditions in place and make you wait a month for your money whilst they earn interest on it. If owed the money to the CPWH I am sure they allow me to put in conditions for when I was going to chose to pay them back NOT. carolyn

Just some observations, CW are 'agents' of O2, but the contract was with the network (O2). No, they're not really earning interst on your money, they're giving you 'their' money if you jump through the hoops high enough, so it is in their interest to make the conditions as onerous as possible and discourage as many as possible from claiming. Of course, they may have 'lost' your bill by accident and need a replacement - but the flip-side is someone in the rebates department being careless. The problem remains the same, cashback schemes and similar marketing devices are there to catch they eye and get custom - it's a different matter when you try to claim and don;t cross the 't's' and dot the 'i's'. For the grief, hassle and hypertension they cause - you're better off just looking at the bottom line and forgetting the 'hoop olympics'!

whatever you do DONT go with PHONES 2U DIRECT. they are a nightmare. they said I didn't send my 10 pages of my bill up to them and only sent 4 pages so I cant have my cash back or any other claims back either..THE ROBBERS..I am dealing with trading standards at the moment who are going to write to them but I will go to court if I have to even if only to discredit them to stop them conning other people...My mother also has a cash back deal with them and had to go to the trading standards over her 1st bill but luckily she got that but now her second cash back is overdue it doesn't look as though she will get that..they wont answer the phones or reply to any e-mails...BE WARNED.....best firms are phone box direct or cool new mobile both part of the same company

I agree AVOID PHONES 2 U DIRECT AT ALL COSTS they are a bunch of scheming -------, once you have the first claim rejected due to a minor mistake they send you this

Where a cashback is claimed in instalments, claims for subsequent instalments are dependent on acceptance of the previous claim.

Basically all future 9 month 12 month claims get rejected, this has happened to 2 contracts my husband and I took out causing the loss of £720 cash back in total.
