We have been wanadoo/Orange broadband customers for 2 years + now and my other half took out a text pack contract with orange in Mayish this year for £20 pcm. We then saw on their site that they offer free broadband to Orange customers with contracts of £30 or more per month. So other half rings up orange and asks to upgrade his contract to something £30 or over a month so we can be eligible for the free broadband deal.
Advisor says yup, that's fine you can go on the "core plan" which is 200 anytime minutes and no texts for £30 a month, and the boradband will automatically become free. So other half upgrades contract, cancels direct debit to Orange broadband. Then we get an email that we are overdue on broadband account, call them up and they say we are not on the free contract and to call Orange mobile phones..which we did who now inform us we had to renew not upgrade the contract which would mean starting an 18 month contract when we were previously on a 12 month contract. Other half tells orange that he was not advised of this, was infact told the oppostire and wants to drop his contract back to the text pack for £20 a month and just pay for broadband as before. Orange refused and when asked to be put through to a team leader on numerous times they have cut us off, put us back into the main menu or refused....can anyone help with a letter to Orange as this really isn't acceptable as we are now stuck on a contract for £30 a month plus the £17.99 broadband direct debit too
