There have already been complaints about talk talk. Also if you look at the histories of ultra cheap ISP's they do not tend to last long as they cut their margins to tightly.

I would recommend BT as although they aren't the cheapest I have never had trouble with the service over the last 3 years. Problem with BT is the capping, but, I download a fair bit and have never had them contact me saying I had exceeded the limit.

Avoid AOL like the plague as well. AOL software is notoriously hard to get rid of and restricts usage.

I have been with T/West ever since BT lost their monopoly, cdn't get away fast enough! Now on 10 mb package, no cap, best quality/price IMO, and technical help is in the UK. I wdn't go back to BT if you paid me. I'm very suspicious of Talk-Talk's sounds-too-good-to-be-true offer.
So if you're in the right area, Telewest Blueyonder would get my vote hands up every time.

I have been with pipex for four years now and no complaints at all, they even increased upload speed for online gaming - no idea what that actually means but it made a moody teen much happier and made no difference to price.

I'd also recommend Tesco - £17.97pm, no download limits, and it's fast enough for what I need. I've never had a problem with it.

Hi all

Have a look at this site it will give you all the info you need on ISP's
ADSLguide: The UK's largest independent ADSL review site - Your guide to UK broadband Internet.

And search the forums with the ISP name and you will find out what others say about them

Im going over to the new BT home hub and they seem to be the best at the moment.

I've been with Tiscali for ages. I know they've got a bad rep, but I've had no probs and they are VERY cheap.
The speed is excellant and I've never had the connection drop in two years.
