Default BT say they will do it and never

Ok, need your help!

Feb, signed up to BT landline [JUST landline dont need calls].

Customer Advisor said I'd have a min 12 month contract. I'm ok with that.

EVERY bill I have recieved there has been a problem.

1st)I wasn't notified that BT would take over my calls when I decided to from talktalk to sky. apparently from the moment they took my landline, they took my calls untill sky got them. That was about a months worth.
So called BT, gentleman said he would check about refunding and call back within hour. NO CALL! So I called back and lady refunded instantly. So I don't mind.

2nd) I was never told of this low usage charge for bt 1571... so hit for 3 months with it. First instance I called them and explained why this wasnt explained even though they can see that I don't have calls with them. Asked for it to be cancelled and I'd get a bloody answermachine. He said he'd do that. Ok happy.

3rd) Customer Advisor hadn't done what he said. So called just now to say...well....cheers...£1 8.70 for a landline? I was firm but polite with Customer advisor. Asked and got those charges refunded for only 1 month and 1571 and caller display cancelled. Then asked for an address to write to as I was going to complain and ask for service to be cancelled as I was appalled with service. Not going to discuss it over the phone as they have a standard script to follow.

NOW what I need from you lovelies is, can I cancel my landline. Had landline for about 6 months however I do feel they've invalidated any contract by the services I asked to cancel? Is there any way I can get round this? I'm just fed up. Every single bill and they've charged or whatever. grrrr

Abi xx

I have just signed up for a BT contact and they do tell you quiet clearly that it is for 12 months and they say it 3 times and i was told the call is recorded. So I think you may be out of luck. also how long have you got left? as you said it has been quiet a few charges each month so your time may nearly be up anyway.

Dunno if this helps but you can get "BT privacy at home" for free... they register you with TPS and give you caller display free with that.

I'm well aware that she notified me of the 12 month contract. My point is every time I call them and speak to them, they promise to cancel or refund a charge. Or cancel a service. However each time they've not done such a thing. So with regards to this, Its annoyed me!

I've been provided with an email for one of the big bosses of BT so I think I'll try that!
