I understand the need to give notice on my 18month contract of 30 days. I tried today to let then know I do not want it to roll on as I have not been using it since last year due to putting the handset somewhere that I cannot remember. I know going senile.

Its safe but where Ive given up.
Contract up in just over month so I rang and got the hard sell, sorry we didnt help you get another handset( I would have paid, but felt the store as soon as heared me were not interested) but would you like a new contract and we can set it up now. I said no please just put a note that I do not want to continue and that I will back it up by letter.
My point is I was told even if they received a letter, if it was slightly outside (early) the 30 days as in 35 or 4o till contract ends that it would not be accepted and I would still be charged to continue. Now I have memory problems and told them Im worried I may forget so could they just put a note on file. What I want to know is if I say stop direct debit after last payment a few days early why should that be a problem.
It seems they are more interested in selling me a new phone and want another chance at selling one next month. Anyone else aware of 3 doing this?
I understand the contract and surely giving them warning shouldnt be so difficult. If I go over they told me they will charge, thats nice of them.
