Default BT one off charge
I recieved a letter from BT about 2 months ago saying that there was an offer on for free uk calls for 3 months so i signed up. Forgetting about it i signed up with a different provider due to BTs poor customer service.

on the letter it said nothing about a charge being applied should i leave. but i've just recieved my final bill and they have added a one-off charge for £203.26 along side it it says free uk calls for 3 months(term). I hadn't had the offer on my acount for more than 2 months before i switched.

Is there anything i can do to have this charge removed

any help would be great

Far be it for me to defend BT but I believe the offer was in conjunction with you agreeing to an extended term of contract, which you've breached, so I'm guessing the charge is correct and will stand.

It didn't mention on the letter that it would of extended my contract as i wouldn't of signed up for it otherwise

The deal, allowing for an extended ROLLING 12 month contract was well publicised at the time and has always formed the basis of the 'Terms & Conditions Apply' note provided with the offer. This is the quid-pro-quo of the free calls, and if you chose not to apply, you could have terminated with just 1 month's notice, often quicker - providing you served the minimum term for a new line or reconnection.
