Just had strange call to my mobile, it sounded as if caller was in a train terminal for all the background noise
Started with woman saying was updating O2 records and needed to confirm information regarding the phone insurance I had signed up to on application.
I said to her I know for a fact I dont have phone insurance as had chosen not to have it.
She again said she was from O2 and knew I had this insurance and needed to give her my details.
I said I dont have insurance and still dont want it and at this she put the phone down.
Rang O2 directly who said they would never have rung me especially with number witheld and it was a third party. I asked how they had got my number and she said probably passed on with not ticking box for sales and I said I ticked okay for O2 information but not for third party sales and know this for a fact. Told system down and I would have to ring back in one hour.
Now are O2 selling numbers without permission? I would hope not, or are third parties just using auto dialers maybe on mobiles. O2 say it wasnt them.
Anyone else come across this?
