i have had a contract phone with 3 for just over a year now on a 18 month contract, for the past 4 month it has never worked as the battery wont charge and the phone cuts you off even if its plugged in, i have spent numerous hours trying to sort this out but i get nowhere, the phon ehas isurance which itook out with 3 when i got the phone. THey are saying because the phones cover is damaged then i must have dropped it therefore i would have to pay£25 plus the cost of fixing the cover, i have never dropped the phone. They say the insurace does not cover it so i would be better off waiting 2 month and getting an upgraded phone and renewing my contact again, ooohhh i think not. So i am stuck with a mobile that wont work and paying £15 every month for the non use of it. i am cancelling the insurance as its usless is there anything else i can do??
My niece has just had her phone in for repair with 3 and they said she cant have it done as one of her children must have sucked on it and caused damp inside, she had to pay £60 to buy a new phone

Erm... perhaps it's just me, but I was under the impression that the point of insurance was to cover you in case your phone got lost/stolen or damaged due to accidental damage...

What does it say in your policy?

I agree with lawbunny. Had you submitted it for repair under warranty then yes I would expect them to refuse a free repair had you dropped it or if they had reason to believe it had been dropped due to case damage etc. However as it is insured I would check the T&C's of the insurance and see exactly what is covered and take it from there.

There's a difference between the phone not working and cosmetic damage - the phone should be repaired under insurance, but any cosmetic damage would not be covered.
