Default BT Repair!

Hi

Called BT out to fix telephones line as the wires were loose. The engineer came and took about 20mins, (he just put in a small junction box and some new cable - which would have been bout a £1 in a DIY store).

Had bill yesterday for repair and they charged me £189.88 plus VAT!

Anyone tell me if thats right?

Where exactly did the engineer put the junction box and cable?
Which wires exactly were loose?
BT are responsible for all wiring up to and including the first phone socket in the building.

It wasnt a new junction box just a repair to the exixiting one and a bit of cable to reattach it.
I only got one phone socket in the house.

In which case, unless you caused the damage (loose wires), BT cannot charge you for the work. As stated, BT are responsible for the network up to and including the first telephone socket.
